Twenty-three years after the 1968 victory of the "two-headed eagle of the south," PAOK wins the European Cup Winners' Cup in basketball. In the "Patinoire" stadium in Geneva, which was packed with Greeks, PAOK defeats Zaragoza, 76-72.  The coach was Dragan Sakota, and the players: Prelevic 31 points, Barlow 20, Stavropoulos 15, Fasoulas 7, Ioannou 3, Makaras, Papachronis, Boudouris.
