The prelude to a grand moment

Greece defeats Northern Ireland 1-0 in the "Apostolos Nikolaidis" stadium. Vasilis Tsiartas scores the goal with a penalty kick (won by Zisis Vryzas). With this victory, the National football team qualifies for the final phase of Euro 2004 in Portugal. Greece is ecstatic since this is accomplished for the second time in its history; the first time was in 1980. Mikis Theodorakis composed an anthem for the National team, which is performed at the game. The composer is present and states: "I hope and wish we do well and even go as far as the finals, why not. The anthem I wrote for the National team is a lucky anthem that will bring the goal!"
