Bucharest. Anastasimatarion and Sticherarion by Petros Peloponnesios, rewritten in the New Method by Chrysanthos of Madytos, Grigorios Levitis, and Hourmouzios Yiamalis. The New Method reformed and simplified the Greek notation, making it easier to be taught and printed. The Patriarchate officially adopted the New Method in 1814. It was based on the traditional rhythm of the interpretations and western notation. This new simplified notation narrowed the use of nods, complex composition and introduced the use of spaces to indicate the duration of the note. The first printing type of the Greek nods was manufactured in Bucharest by the graduate of the 4th Musical School of the Patriarchate, Petros Efesios, in collaboration with the goldsmith Seraphim.
