Michalis Souyioul composes the last tram, introducing a new song genre, the Archodorebetiko (light urban song)

Alekos Sakellarios and Christos Giannakopoulos stage the musical play "People, people" at the theater Metropolitan where Michalis Souyioul's song "The Last Tram" is heard. The song introduces a new kind of light urban song, called Archodorebetiko. The song became very popular from day one and was recorded by Tonis Maroudas. This new singing genre was influenced by light music. Its leading creators were the composers Giorgos Mouzakis, Iosif Ritsiardis, Michalis Souyioul, Giannis Vellas, and Takis Morakis. The lyricists were playwrights such as Alekos Sakellarios, Giorgos Tzavellas, Christos, and Giorgos Giannakopoulos.
