Manos Hatzidakis: establishing the Athens Experimental Orchestra

Manos Hatzidakis founded the Athens Experimental Orchestra, which, even though it only ran for three years, managed to have 15 new Greek avant-garde works performed for the first time. This move followed a previous one in 1962, the financing of the Athens Technological Institute's Manos Hatzidakis competition, which introduced to Greece music pieces by Xenakis, Logothetis, Mamagakis, Antoniou, Ioannidis, Tsougiopoulos, Gazouleas, etc.
