Ethnikos Gymnastikos Syllogos (Ethnikos Gymnastics Club) is founded

The widely known as "Ethnikos Athinon" is an offspring of Panhellinios, since 12 of its members disagree with the priority given to the games and want it given to the sports infrastructure. The athlete of Ethnikos, Ioannis Mitropoulos, won the first golden Olympic victory for Greece in 1896 in gymnastics (rings). Dimitrios Lundros won the bronze medal in the uneven bars, at the age of just ten years and 218 days old! He's the youngest Olympic champion in the history of the Games.
