Averof donates 920,000 gold drachmas for Kallimarmaro (Panathenaic Stadium)

The Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games convenes for the first time, with Crown Prince Constantine as the President and Ioannis Fokianos as the Vice-President. One of the committee's issues is to secure financial resources. Georgios Averof made the largest donation, 920,000 gold drachmas, for the marbles' completion and renovation (hence, the name Kallimarmaro since then) of the Panathenaic Stadium.
