A second "star" for Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos defeats Maccabi 73-67 in the final. The 13th "Final Four" takes place in Thessaloniki on the occasion of the official opening of PAOK's new indoor stadium in Phoenikas. Zeljko Obradovic (winning his fourth title, with the fourth different team) coaches Panathinaikos for the first time. Panathinaikos wins the European Championship for the second time. Scorers: Albertis 11 points, Katas 5, Koch 3, Fotsis 5, Bodiroga 22, Rebraca 15, Rogers 9, Gentile 7, Burke 4. Israeli legend Oded Katash bursts into tears at the end of the match since, during the Jewish Passover, Panathinaikos "injures" his beloved team.
