Panathinaikos is crowned European Champion for the fifth time in its history. At the O2 Arena in Berlin, Panathinaikos defeats CSKA Moscow in the EuroLeague Final Four after beating Olympiacos in the semifinal. Zelimir Obradovic becomes the coach with the most wins in the EuroLeague history with seven titles ( four of them with Panathinaikos.) Vassilis Spanoulis is named MVP and becomes the third Greek player to be named MVP at the Final Four, after Papaloukas (2006 with CSKA) and Diamantidis (2007 with Panathinaikos). Sarunas Jasikevicius becomes the first player in the EuroLeague history to win the trophy with a third different team (with Barcelona in 2003 and Maccabi in 2004 and 2005). In the third-place match, Olympiacos lost to Barcelona 79-95.
