The golden girls of Athinaikos

Athinaikos is the first women's basketball team to win a European trophy. In the Ergani stadium, Georgis Dikaioulakos' girls (Saregou, Kalentzou, Lymoura, Hatzinikolaou, Volonaki, Soulis, Petronite, Wiggins, Kosmas, Riley, Vizbariene) lose 57-53 from Russian Nadezhda Orenburg in the second final of the Euro Cup Women, but win the Cup, since they won 65-57 in Russia in the first final. They are the first women's team in the Greek history of the sport, which conquers "Triple Crown" (Championship, Cup, and European Championships). Overall they are third, including the men's teams of Panathinaikos and Olympiacos.
