The Committee of the Olympic Games (EOA) is established in Athens

Its purpose is to organize the first modern Olympic Games. First president is Crown Prince Constantine. In 2000 the EOA will be renamed HOC (Hellenic Olympic Committee), since the host of the 2004 Games is now, the OCOG "ATHENA 2004.”
