AC Aris Thessaloniki is founded

Under the naive notion that next to the «Demigod" Iraklis (Heracles) of Thessaloniki, the city also needs a "God," Aris, a group of fans proceed with its founding. They meet on March 25 at a café in the area of Votsi (eastern Thessaloniki), and their idea becomes a reality. They choose as an emblem the resting god Ares of Ludovisi, a statue attributed to the ancient Greek sculptor Skopas and housed in a Museum in Rome. The first home grounds of the Club were located in the vicinity of the Arch of Galerius, followed by the Park of Leoforos Stratou and later in the area of Charilaou, at the stadium "Kleanthis Vikelidis".
