Panathinaikos' sixth star

Panathinaikos defeats Maccabi 78-80 in the EuroLeague Final Four in Barcelona. They win the title for the 6th time in their history. The match takes place at 17:30 Israeli time to commemorate the national anniversary of Israel's "fallen soldiers," which begins at sunset, i.e., at 19.28. Zelimir Obradovic, who is already the tournament's coach with the most wins, achieves eight titles, the last five with Panathinaikos. Dimitris Diamantidis is named MVP of the 2010-11 season. He becomes the first player in history to win all three awards presented at the end of the season - the MVP, the Best Defender, and the Member of the Best First Team of the tournament.
