Markos Vamvakaris’ first recording

Vamvakaris, urged by Spyros Peristeris, recorded for the first time music for bouzouki with the record label ODEON – PARLOFON. The record was a 45 rpm, which had the song "Karantouzeni" on A-side, which he sang himself, and a solo zeibekiko "The Arap" on the B side. This recording's success significantly impacted Greek discography's history. It opened the way for many important rebetiko composers such as Kostas Skarvelis, Spyros Peristeris, and Panagiotis Tountas to use bouzoukia in their recordings.
